New Tata Sierra में तीन engine और उतने ही gearbox विकल्प होंगे; bookings अगले महीने से शुरू होंगी
Tata Motors ने Sierra नामप्लेट को उसके all-new internal combustion अवतार में कुछ दिन पहले reintroduced किया। Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) से शुरू होने वाली New Sierra, Curvv के ऊपर Tata की lineup में है और Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished और Accomplished+ trims में उपलब्ध होगी। Bookings 16 December को खुलेंगी जबकि customer deliveries mid-Jan 2026 में शुरू होंगी।
Homegrown ब्रांड की उम्मीदें इस नई midsize SUV से बड़ी हैं — कंपनी confident है कि Sierra उसकी वर्तमान 16–17% SUV market share से nearly 20–25% तक पहुँचने में मदद करेगा। Midsize SUV सेक्शन आमतौर पर हर महीने 40,000+ unit sales दर्ज करता है। Tata के अनुसार, लगभग 60% Sierra sales petrol models से आने की उम्मीद है।
वहीं, नया 1.5-litre turbo GDI petrol अकेला ही टोटल का करीब 20% रिकॉर्ड कर सकता है। New Sierra तीन engine options से पॉवर्ड है। 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol 160 PS और 255 Nm देता है जबकि परिचित 1.5-litre diesel engine 120 PS और up to 280 Nm जनरेट करता है। साथ ही एक 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine भी है जो 106 PS और 145 Nm बनाता है।
Buyers 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed torque converter automatic या DCT automatic transmission में से चुन सकते हैं। Tata के ARGOS modular platform पर बनी New Sierra को modern safety standards को meet करने के लिए engineered किया गया है। Tata ने अपने launch presentation में दो Sierras के बीच head-on crash test भी दिखाया ताकि उसकी structural integrity पर प्रकाश डाला जा सके।
डिज़ाइन के मामले में SUV ने original Sierra की आत्मा को आगे बढ़ाया है — boxy silhouette, बड़ा glasshouse और upright proportions के साथ— साथ में slim headlamps, full-width light bars और dual-tone alloy wheels भी हैं। लंबी wheelbase की बदौलत अंदर occupants के लिए काफी जगह है और boot में 622 litres का volume मिलता है।
कबिन में tri-screen dashboard setup है, जिसमें digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment display और separate passenger-side screen शामिल हैं, साथ ही एक JBL audio system जो dashboard-mounted soundbar और Dolby Atmos support के साथ integrated है। अतिरिक्त features में panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, floating centre console, automatic climate control, under-thigh support, Level 2 ADAS और extendable sun visor शामिल हैं।
